BRENTFORD FESTIVAL 2013 at Blondin Park: Sunday 1st September from 12noon to 6pm;

The ever popular and well attended Brentford Festival is being held away from Boston Manor Park this year..and will instead be happening "just across the border" in Ealing at Blondin Park.The entrance to the Park is situated in Swyncombe Avenue at the junction with Windmill Road...and we're talking of the area between Northfield Avenue and Boston Manor Road.There are a host of bands playing..(successful at their auditions of course!), masses of stalls, food and refreshments galore, and there will be plenty of fun for children and adults..We need your support and so...please come along! ENTRANCE IS FREE!!

Thank you Ben and Nigel for your support and comments which will be taken on board. It seems many thousands of locals attended and the vastness of the Park meant that it was not overcrowded and indeed a relaxed atmosphere all round.The Organisers were delighted with the turn out. There were over 100 stalls.and to me they all looked busy. My Handmade Greeting card lady was well pleased.The appearance of Red Routemaster buses added to the all round interest.

Two suggestions for next year.Some large maps or signs pointing to the 'hidden areas'.I came in from Niagara Avenue and thought 'where are all the stalls'? It wasn't until I saw a crowd emerging through the 'hedge' that I realised that there was far more than the eye could see on entering.Second suggestion; I know that some people love the sound of their own voice but the lady 'announcer' on around 1:00pm was really in 'local radio, nothing to say, so keep talking' mode. Less can sometimes be more.That said, well done to all involved in the organisation and running.

The litter will swiftly collected up Phillipa and, hopefully, properly segregated for recycling purpose!..unlike this mixed up litter in Geneva!
