Beware Barclay card Scam

I just received a text message from Barclaycard which said'Message from Barclaycard: We've been unable to deliver an item of post to your address. Please call us on the normal number 0844 8119111 (or +441604230230 from abroad_ to ensure we have your correct address You will need your card with you when you call. Thanks.We all know this is a scam but do let others know about this especially the elderly or vulnerable.

They've probably tapped you phone and are intercepting your post as well.Seriously, there are so many scams around that unless you are 100% sure that you are calling your bank (check the number and bo not agree to ring back as they can leave the line 'open') don't call.My own bank called me after I switched accounts to verify a transaction. It had never happened before so I said that I would call them back from a different number. No problem until I got one of my own security responses (it has five level security) wrong. Account frozen and over an hour on the phone convincing them that the guy who they had called was the one actually calling them back. :-)

Please be on your guard from text messages and phone calls. Never disclose your card number under any circumstances.By the way, I tried to trace the number on the text message but it said no number available.

Could it have been a new card which had to be signed for, rather than an actual parcel? Is your old one about to expire? If not, then it's probably dodgy.

Ahh.. very strange. I don't order online or give my card details to anyone. I am not expecting any parcel. They don't even have my mobile number so I find it very strange to get this text message. I hope if this is genuine they will write to me.

Why do you say this is a scam? Both of these phone numbers are legitimate and route to Barclaycard.
