Ealing Rooftop Cinema

I’m new to this forum and something came to my attention so I thought I would post for the first time…The Ealing Rooftop Cinema that’s supposed to run all summer for the next few years in Springbridge Rd car park has started to advertise its programme for the year. However as far as I know, planning permission has not yet been granted for this. I was consulted over the plans and have checked the Ealing Council website, it still says this is ‘pending’. How can they advertise the films if they don’t even know they will be able to be there?Thanks.

I am not sure, I just saw the notice Gordon Road and found out more about it, as I was unaware of what the proposal was all about. I commented on the lateness of the opening time (past midnight). It appears that this was actually raised by the licensing people from the council and the cinema and bar will close earlier than initially proposed by the developer. In principal I think it is a fine idea but at £12 for a ticket to see an old film on top of a car park... I am not sure. I hope it brings back something of the feel of having a cinema at least though.

The application is before the Planning Committee tomorrow night (Wednesday 24th July 2013). The meeting starts at 7pm.There are other functions that are not protected by headphones and there would be milling about by a large number of people close to Nos. 1 - 5 Haven Green (residential) apart from the office in the lower part of No.1.As Cllr. Julian Bell has already announced that the Cinema is going ahead and the Cinema films are already being advertised, this tends to make one believe that tomorrow night's meeting is merely a "rubber-stamping" formality and that once again, Cllr. Bell is open to charges of meddling in planning applications.

Sorry if this posted twice!Yes they will have headphones but according to the site plans crowds will not disperse until midnight, with last orders at the standard 11pm. Also the screenings will only take place Sundays to Thursdays I believe. Will noise be a problem do people think if it's all outside and elevated? What are the standard closing times for pub gardens in residential areas?

The top of the car-park in Springbridge Road is close to many residential properties and there is an office downstairs now at the former pub restaurant.If the films are being shown out in the open, won't the amplification impinge on residents' bedrooms (Gordon Road houses odd-numbered for instance) nearby if they are showing films till 11pm or so?
