Does anyone know what is happening to the Pearce Butchers? The shop front has been painted black and the windows covered with newspaper.

I'm looking forward to H&C openingWe were gutted when the Pearces left overnightI'd encourage all locals to support their local English butcher on the high street, the difference between a good butcher and the stack em high supermarkets is immense and the personnel touch countsObviously I appreciate families are on budgets etc and definitely the high street isn't for allI'll keep doing my bit - Buy British!!

Thanks Nigel, phase one complete, all my equipment is in storage, now we're in the hands of the landlords builders. The hard work will be putting it all back together again. And then hoping the customers come back of course!

What a nice bloke you are Tony. Many would 'knock' other people in their trade, well done sir.How is the rebuild/refurb going?

Paul from Hook and Cleaver is a very good butcher and hard working young man. South Ealing is fortunate to have him invest in the shop there. I hope he gets plenty of support and I wish him every success.
There is an Hook & Cleaver in Pitshanger Lane. Guess that it is the same company.

"Hook and Cleaver" seems a very appropriate name for a butcher's shop. Rather like "Joint 'n Gigot".

I can see that a new butcher is to open where Pearce was - Hook & Cleaver. Does anyone know anything about them?
