Despite the weather Elthorne park was packed with people enjoying themselves.Well done to the organisers and everyone involved in this ever-popular community event.

Did Ealing ever have its own Carnival and Fair?

I know Viv. My church (St.Thomas's) used to enter a float every year but the cost of insurance was over £500 for the dasy the last time we checked. Way beyond the means of most charities and not a good use of funds. Damned shame really.I also second your vote of thanks to 'Mike' (assume that he has taken over from Colin).

trouble is it's really really hard to get floats - 'Elf and Safety etc - the lorries have to have loads of insurance ..... I think Mike did brilliantly this year

I have lived in Hanwell all my life and would love the Carnival to be as big as it was in the 1960's.80+ floats in the procession and Elthorne Park absolutely 'rammed' with community stalls raising much needed funds.
I third that Nigel - Hanwell's looking up these days - here's to 2014.

I second that Nigel. Hanwell Carnival gets better every year so a big, big thank you to all those involved. Already looking forward to 2014.
