Fogo and  Electric Coffee Company

Any ideas what's going on with these 2 premises?I know Fogo's been and on going saga but the elec coffee co has only just shut (hasn't it?).

Agree, Costa's coffee is quite pleasant. But this is a very subjective subject and there are many variables in a good tasting coffee. Which is the best coffee place in Ealing?Of the variables there is the roasting time, the type of bean, the type of machine used to make the drink and of course the barista involved. Our current favourite is Carluccio's in The Green. They make two varieties; one called Milano and the other named Napoli, the former being smooth, the latter tasting more bitter.We are blessed in Ealing - there are umpteen cafes from which to choose - happy drinking.

That's why I much prefer Costa to any of the other major chains, their 'roastery' is in Vauxhall ad you used, when trains had opening windows, to be able to smell it on the way in to Waterloo station.

Apparently the secret is that the beans are roasted in london and used straight away, that bitter aftertaste  you get with so many coffee outlets is because the beans are roasted well before they are ground.

thing about the electric coffee company is that it's coffee is worth the money.I can't understand why people would go into starbucks and sit there and drink a cup of tepid water rather than get some proper coffee with proper taste and no bitter after taste from  the Electric Coffee Company (if that's what it's called since it's reopened?).

Ealing will soon be exclusively occupied by Estate Agents drinking coffee :-)

In view of the thread this is almost amusing. FOGO has a planning change of use in the pipeline from KFH, the estate agents!

Hi Simon,ECC is deffo going to be a coffee shop again - I was reading their posts on their Facebook page last night and can confirm it's definitely opening this Saturday.

Hi Bud, it doesn't look like The ECC is going to be a coffee shop but I could be wrong.Noticed Harris & Hoole though opposite M & S.

oh good. Will check tomorrow on way past. Fogo was about to become an Italian but that  must be  3/4 years ago now.Shame as quite an impressive shop frontage.

Don't know about Fogo - ECC however is closed for a refurb and opens again (I think) 15th June. Walking to station this morning it's looking good!
