What's wrong with polygamy?

ex-archbishop wades in again:    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-22727808I mean, seriously, what *EXACTLY* is supposed to be so very wrong with polygamy?I have never understood why society sees fit to be so down on this form of relationship.If a man or a woman can afford to have several partners then why not let them provided their is no coercion or exploitation involved?Indeed the question of "afford" has become much less relevant in this age of equal rights for all - including the economic right of woman to work if they wish.
