Which hair salon, tricolgist or hairdresser in Ealing is the best for wigs and hairpieces please? Or would I have to go into the Westend for such items?

Yep, there really is such a place (see link in my earlier message) and it really did used to be based until recently in Wigmore Street.:-)

There used to be a large trichologist's practice in Hounslow but that now seems to focus on 'breast augmentation'.Then again Gerry, you could go the whole hog! :-)
