Concrete and Asbestos dust South Ealing and Brentford
It's come to light locally that the Alfa- Laval site currently being part demolished was built in the mid 1960s possibly using concrete with asbestos content. ( Common at that time)Currently local concerns have been raised about the large amount of dust caused by the several weeks of windy and dry weather. As it's been cold most of the time it has not been an issue, but in recent weeks there have been complaints of sore eyes, claggy noses and dry throats. If you have been affected by the dust or are suffering unusual symptoms, let your GP know.If you are concerned as we are about the exact content of the concrete dust, call or email the HSE. Very difficult to do by phone. Easier by email but wonder if anyone actually reads these. The relevant form is at https://extranet.hse.gov.uk/lfserver/external/comp1They can be called on 0300 003 1647 option 1 and ask for them to put you through to the right dept. for Hounslow Borough ( which is in nearby Bootle ! )
