Ealing's twin town in France.

What's Marcq-enBaroel(spelling?) like please?  Has anyone been there in spring/early summer?  Is it an attractive town to visit? Any restaurants/cafes recommended please? Thanks.

The pleasant bit is called "Cleethorpes". :-)(And even then one has to be selective...  :-) )

Thanks D Downey. I like the idea of being twinned to other towns in Europe. I'd still like to have some opinions of Marcq-En Barrul though.

You're right about being twinned with Marcq-En Barrul. We're also twinned with  Bielany, Poland and Steinfurt, Germany,Afriad I can't help you with reviews on any of these locations

Eric, I'm confused too - I may have got the wrong end of the stick, but I vaguely recall that some ten or maybe 15 years or so, we in Ealing were twin-town matched with a town in France called Marcq-En Barrul.  I sometimes get things wrong - pardon me - but some kind EalingToday poster will put me right - I hope!

What is this Twin Town nonsense? I can't recall voting for this? If Marcq-en-Baroel was chosen - what were the others on the short list? When was this vote and decision? Surely the town's links with India and Poland are stronger that its links with France.(What links with France?)Confused.

C'mon Keith and Tony, I'm sure there are pleasant areas of Grimsby. But I'm still curious about Ealing's twin town Marcq-en Baroel. And I fancy some moules mariniere and a slice of tarte tatin. Anyone?

The town where I was born isn't twinned with anywhere but has a suicide pact with Grimsby...(thankyou Les Dawson)
