Ealing Fields Free School. Where?

Not very much being said about where this school is to be located.There are no free sites large enough to contain a substantial size school.If they are thinking of Parks or Allotments, No way.

I'm all for a school with Brentfords population to rise by 14,000 and similar for Ealing, it will have to happen.The real crime is allowing such huge intense developments with nothing in place. In fact fromer school sites have been sold off and built on.But to touch parks, allotments and amenity space is an absolute social disaster waiting in the wings and should not be entertained.

I should imagine they are going for the old Convent school/King Fahad Academy, little Ealing Lane. As far as I know it is still empty

Popefields?  Lying dormant for years - unused and uncared for. Access blocked off to prevent access by caravans. Very large area behind the houses on the West side of Gunnersbury Avenue.

Great for a school but not on amenity sites that are in use.There's far more to life than just kids and one day those kids will grow up and one day they will become old,And there will be nothing for them to enjoy or occupy them.There has to be things for people of all ages for all ages always.

There will be need for more high school places in the next few years when the bulge in primary age children become high school age.  That is why the group are aiming their request at parents with children of year 4 and below.The group is working hard and have ideas for where the school could be located.Everyone is encouraged to attend the public meeting on Tuesday 23 April at the Navasartian Centre, 223 Northfields Ave at 7:00pm and repeated at 8:30pm

Seems like a 'we speak for all' desire of the Yummy Mummies and the set who can't afford Chiswick.Their website has no points of contact and a rather stupid statement that they can't reveal sites due to property developers finding out.Hmmmm,!

I fully agree, the open spaces are sacrosanct.I can't think of a brown field site that is up for redevelopment.I notice from the poster which I am sure was on this site earlier) for the open meeting that they are seeking 'year 4 and below' pupils. That isn't High School age (which starts at year 7). Let's hope that the attention to detail is a little more focussed as things progress.
