Drayton Manor CB starts for 2013

Car Boot begins on 13th April at end of Greenford Avenue.  This is a friendly local car boot with many regular sellers and buyers.  50p entrance.  Start for sellers at 6.30. Ends 12.30.  Security and Loos. There is no parking for buyers as yellow lines effective on Saturday and local streets full - best to come on the bus or get a lift. There will be some food sellers and usually our ice cream man. All monies go to the school for items needed for the children.

Only half of the field is available - the cricket teams etc need their own half.  The events are only held in the Summer and only every two weeks to ease any inconvenience.  This is very much a local event - most buyers come from Hanwell, Greenford, Southall and Ealing and many are regulars. Many people meet family here and have lots of friends they see here as it is very friendly.  We have security guards to manage traffic as best we can and I did suggest the buses. The benefit to the school are enormous and some of the kids help out.  Every year people beg us to do more as they like it so much - so we do listen to you when we limit our activities.

Jools,As you know I constantly comment on anything relating to Drayton Manor's car boot sale and chuckled at your comments on parking. The yellow lines you mention will mean a direct inpact on the local residents / roads as it always does - visitors parking where and how they want. Many of us are sick to death of it. If Drayton Manor showed a little more consideration, they would allow visitors to park on the far end of the fields.May I ask what role do you play in the running of the CBS and whether you can take my concerns to the appropriate person(s).
