The Hanwell Hootie line up

The line up for the  Hanwell Hootie this Saturday is:At the Royal Victoria (Boston Road): The Provisos, Diffuse, The Chairs, Et Tu Bruce, and Phil Odgers of the Men They Couldn’t Hang.The Prince of Wales (a.k.a. The Pig) Boston Rd : Michael Kilbey, The Graphite set, Sub Delux, Tommy Hare, Jingo and Scoundrels. The Inn on the Green, Lower Boston Rd has; Luge, Tommy Hare, Du Bellows, Robert Hokum & The Devil Drives.The Hootie has a Facebook page with links to a lot of the bands’ music. The Hootie Fringe: there will be bands at The Duke of York (Uxbridge Rd) & The Fox (Green Lane) while at The Kings Arms & Lavins (Uxbridge Rd), Ryans  & Emporium (Boston Rd) you can take pot luck with open mic nights. At Emporium from 7pm you can also see an exhibition of very early (’64) photos of The Who taken by lovely Clare’s dad, photographer Richard RosserI am now looking up how to be in three places at the same time - any tips?

What a night!!! Some really ace musicians and great music all over Hanwell but the top prize must go to Phil Odgers from The Men They Couldn't Hang in the Royal Victoria - that pub has never been so packed. Et Tu Bruce were also very good. Marvellous night all round. This should be an annual event.

I've never seen the pubs so packed!! Funniest bit for me was having to explain to my friend who Brian Poole was .... Chesney Hawkes' dad was in a pop group with him in the 60s!

The organisers say you do not need a ticket to get in any of the eight  pubs playing music. Tickets that were downloaded early on enable you to queue jump - but just till 6pm after that its every man  for  himself. The unveiling of the plaque at the computer shop by the clock is at 4.30. Rock on.

Speaking to friends last night this is going to be quite an event and very well attended by the sound of things.
