Hello Ealing

Just wanted to wish users of the new Ealing.W5 site well, and to say that I am sure it will prove every bit as useful as the Chiswick.W4 website is to us in W4.  (By the way - you have a typo on the home page.  "Personal" in the left hand column is shown as "Personel").

That's funny .... the Forum Front page says that this is the 14th / 15th  message on this thread!I made a note of some of the Forum records many years ago as we were excited about the growth of these new Community Cyberspace activities and it was such fun. Apparently 105 messages were posted here on 1st Nov 2006Acton w3 had 124 messages as at 10.30pm on 20/Nov /2006and Chiswick  hit 355 on 25th October 2006  Someone might be interested!

So the EalingToday website and Forum is over 12 years oldand Robert Billington's message is the earliest I could find using Forum Search.I just typed in "Hello Ealing" and up popped the year 2001 message and so the search facility does go back yonks in some cases.The earliest postings from Gerry and Peter were July and August 2005.Greetings to you Peter!

Sarah,If Mohamed's parents or a parent were Irish, he'd be OK for an Irish passport...somehow can't imagine it though.Doesn't the same apply to us; if our parents were British and we were born overseas wouldn't we be entitled to a UK passport?We don't appreciate our good fortune; people have gone to extremes to try and obtain what we have simply "inherited"!

Hello, Ann.You are right about the passport.  We appear to be giving them away, so I don't understand why we can't pop one in the post to him too.My neighbours who are English by birth (and in their 50's) whose parents were Irish, have applied for their Irish passports, as have their children, again all born here.It is a strange system.  Do you think MF should apply for an Irish passport, then when he has got that, try and swap it for an English one?

A might miffed you sound too .. ...!(The next thing you will be telling me is that the Zec doesn't frisbee unwanted CD's into the park?)I find myself a bit perplexed over M F.  The press appears to be very cynical when they write about him? ?) - but he appears very gracious and generous; popping up supporting good causes.The people I know working around the corner.  One of them went to go into Harrods the other day and was turned down by the doorman as he had jeans on.  As he had spent a fortune in the store in recent months (I mean a fortune, probably including the solid gold bath taps too?) he was understandably, miffed.He had to ring the owner of the property he is developing, who was inside the store spending away, and when he appeared the doorman said "if you are with Mr * that’s all right then, sir" ... and let him in.... ... ... not that you would be interested in this story, one jot Mr T.;-)

SARAH, I've no idea why you think I am mighty Mo's aide-de camp. I've only ever mentioned him once(and that was on the BrentfordTW8 site yonks ago), when I said that the food hall at Mo's mega-store in Knightsbridge is a great place to experience. Indeed, I went on to critisize the great Mohammed for charging £1 just to use the lavatories at Harrods! The cheek of it - charging me a quid for a nelson! So he ain't my favourite shopkeeper and I'm not his right-hand-man either! So there!:-o  ;-]  ;-)
