bifocal  lenses v. multifocal lenses?

Which type of lenses are easier and more efficient to have in ones spectacles?  Which type should one buy?  Users experience would be welcome, thanks.

I too have been wearing varifocals for some time and would thoroughly recommend Hynes in Northfields Ave  It is very difficult trying to choose frames when you can't see in the mirror!

Thanks Pat.  Hynes in Northfield Ave have been in Ealing for several years and come highly respected - however, we tend to go to Boots Opticians, who are also good. I'll ask them to prescribe varifocals for my next set of specs. Btw, is it true that Titanium frames are strong and super lightweight?

I've been wearing varifocals for some time now and love them.  That said they do take a while to get used to. I recommend Hynes in Northfields Avenue for a very good personal service.

Thanks F Stone. My last set of specs are bi-focals.  It was suggested my new set should be multi-focal progressive lenses. I'm thinking of changing. Thanks.

I had to change from having just having lenses for shortsightedness to lenses for both shortsightedness and longsightedness and found that varifocals were the best option. There are 4 tpes to choose from and I chose the one that was the second most expensive and haven't regretted my decision.
