Good news for Blockbuster

It seems that an 11th hour buyer has been found for Blockbuster, saving its staff and stores. Great news and look forward to continuing to support our West Ealing store!http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21912508

Blockbusters were forever asking me for ID and address details as they "had a crash on their system and needed to take them again".  Haven't been in one for years, use lovefilm now which has a much larger selection of older films as well as the latest hyped up piece of tosh that everyone must see.That said, glad some will be able to keep a job.....for now.

How they all survive Tony is because so many people use them! How they can afford to when everybody is suposedly so skint and benefits suposedly so measly escapes me!

I gave up on West Ealing Blockbuster after being told that my membership had expired because I hadn't borrowed anything for six months and I would have to join again. Oh, and my driving licence wasn't sufficient proof of identity, what with having only my photo, name, address and signature on it. I went home, joined Lovefilm and never looked back. Good riddance! No wonder they went bust.

My information is that it has been bought by Morrisons supermarkets. So we will have three Morrisons in W5/W13 within one mile of each other - at Arcadia, below The Gym and now at the old Blockbuster.

Sorry folks.The west Ealing store has closed and all stock has been removed.I thought that it was staying open but it had a clear 'LAST DAY' sign in the window last, IIRC, Wednesday.

Geat news. I use blockbusters occasionaly, the staff are very helpful. We use it for buying ps games as well as renting and buying dvds. saves me having to go to ebway to game.
