Where have ten years gone?

It doesn't seem like 10 years since we invaded Iraq. And I'm still undecided about whether we should have gone to war. Such a shame that so many have died because we went to war. Should I be feeling guilty about the Iraq War?

"...Sunday Times front page is filled with two stories about Russians"Perhaps because they are the new force in town?A City solicitor of my acquaintance recently offered the suggestion that the majority of the London bar now rely on the Russians and other eastern Europeans for the bulk of their business.  it seemed a bit strange at the time, but upon further reflection I wonder whether there is more truth to it than I was initially prepared to accept.

Too many Tony's.Invading Iraq has led to thousands of deaths - most of them Iraqis. I'm not sure the invasion achieved that much. Let's judge the invasion in 10/20 years time when the Brit and the Yank soldiers are long gone.Blair clearly is a war criminal. Why the UK press reports what he says these days is a mystery to me. However the UK press is hard to understand sometimes. Today's Sunday Times front page is filled with two stories about Russians. Why one wonders?

Re  And in mine too.         xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx that's good , quite a universal approval it seems. Of the main family I know, the father upon retirement  goes back to Iraq to lecture in University there, his wife  goes back from time to time but always returns to UK, same with  two of the others. I don't think any will go back to Iraq permanently, despite the wife having 3 properties in Baghdad, one inherited from her mother, one she had built herself, the other I know nothing about.

Re  ...amazing that!          xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx well only one of the four has returned to Iraq, and as far as I am aware is still there. The  other three were one family, all still here, one now banned from entering London ( although he does ), one other lives in Greenford and the third one, who turns out to be the best of the bunch, hard working, lives in Homerton  and who I will hopefully visit next weekend, seeking his advice on  further potential electrical installation issues. He did my new kitchen electrics for me 5 years ago, has done well for himself in UK, authorised to check other electricians' work.

Re  and for what?          xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I can well remember  when the toppling of Saddam's  large statue was being shown on TV, the reaction of the Iraqis who were in  my lounge at the time, all of whom whooped with joy, jumped up and down and applauded. The trouble is  we did not sufficiently  realise or take into account the divisions within Iraqi society and which Saddam had kept under control with his dictatorial methods. The Iraqis with me at that time were/are Shias. As we know, the bombings  are still going on in Iraq, due to one branch of their religion trying to outdo the other. Same old story, same old reason. Religious divides.
