Steve, I don't think Irish is potentially a race. It's an ethnicity. I think the Irish are, like the rest of the indigenous peoples of the British Isles, Caucasian. Also, the only successful Islamic terrorist attack in the UK that I can currently recall, the 7th July bombings in 2005, was, to use your words, "because of a political issue". Specifically the bombers, according to the messages they left, were exacting what they saw as revenge for Britain's involvement in military attacks in and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, and their primarily Islamic populations. There was nothing I'm aware of to suggest that the motivation for their slaughter was caused by a stand "against the traditions, laws, cultural principles, equalities, etc, etc of this land". They believed that Britain and the west was waging war on their religion, and they were somehow convinced they should fight back by randomly killing civilians in the UK, just as civilians in other countries were being randomly killed by western forces. It's not really dissimilar to the IRA bombing British victims because of Britain's military attacks on and occupation of Ireland and the Irish people.Everything is politics in the end, anyway.
