Marie,Apparently not.I have campaigned, unsuccessfully, for years now for Ealing Council not to demolish the multi-storey car park in Singapore Road; not to build the new Green Man Lane Estate of 706 homes, 2,000 residents and less than 400 car parking spaces for residents ,visitors and shoppers; and not to approve a new five level Mosque for 3,000 worshippers with just 12 disabled car parking spaces.Ealing Council will soon, no doubt, approve the building of a car-park-less 60 bed hotel on the corner of Broadway/Melbourne Avenue. It's the wonder of Crossrail West Ealing which is driving this development frenzy. However, apparently, it's still illegal for local residents to view the current plans for this station, operational probably by 2019.Cars will not go away. They may in future run on hydrogen, electricity or even using small nuclear power plants! West Ealing centre needs a new multi-storey car park. But where? If you want to be part of a debate on these subjects get involved with the West Ealing Centre Neighbourhood Forum. This body will soon have the power of the 2011 Localism Act behind it.See: www.wecnf.wordpress.com
