England Taken to the cleaners.

What a surprise - England's much vaunted rugby XV were taken by surprise, by a wonderful Welsh team yesterday. Well done Wales, you out-played, out-foxed and out-skilled the rather ordinary England team. You took 'em to the cleaners!

The great thing Peter is that 11 of the Wales starting XV were 25 or under. Leigh Halfpenny, seems to have been playing forever and yet, is still only just 24. George North isn't 21 until next month and man of the match Justin Tipuric is just 23.Great days ahead if they can keep this XV together and fit.

The Press built england up after the all blacks win. (however i had wondered whether a south african chef was working in london!!) so did they believe the hype? the great thing about 2003 was that there was an england team that treated every team they played with real respect. the old will carling days were arrogant. the 2003 team also gained respect!! many captains in that team. all were leaders. Wales on saturday had plenty of players taking a lead.

"How arrogant were some T-shirt manufacturers and England supporters for wearing these T-shirts before the match"Bet there weren't many wearing them in Cardiff after the match! The great thing about being a rugby supporter is that, with only one exception at the Middlesex 7's many years ago when supporters of one side were fighting among themselves, I have never witnessed anything other then good, if often drunken, behaviour.Perhaps that is why so many ladies go to watch rugby. or, in the best 'Gerry' tradition, is there some other reason?

How arrogant were some T-shirt manufacturers and England supporters for wearing these T-shirts before the match. The plain truth is that Wales played England into submission - they were streets better than England!

At lunchtime the radio people were saying that there were england fans wearing "England Grand Slam winners 2013 t shirts walking around Cardiff. at that point i felt Wales would sweep them aside!!

I doubt it Gerry, she was from Paddington and about as 'English' as they come. She used to think that Sussex was a foreign country :-)

Nigel, young Tuparic was brilliant! They were all manificent, the Welsh. Chris Ashton is no more than a show-off. Bless your Granny - I hope she smiled at the woderful Welsh!

Much cheering in my house from a Welsh wife and two 50% Welsh kids.The Welsh defence was superb and never gave England any time on the ball.For the last two years the guys on 'Scrum V' have been extolling the virtues of Justin Tuparic. Their faith in him was rewarded 'in spades' yesterday.England were made to look very ordinary, especially that one-trick showboating pony Chris Ashton who couldn't tackle my granny - and shes's been dead since 1968.
