Carville Hall

Does anyone know if there is any history of note about Carville Hall, by the A4/M4 ramp?  The gardens were presumably more extensive at an earlier date, the facade is not grand, but the statue hints at something interesting in it's past.

Despite its ornate frontage, it looks like a typical west London villa from the back.

Sadly not. It had largely been 'gutted' from the time that it was a hall and was flats for social housing for many years. Currently used as construction site offices for the GWQ development and you can no longer even drive up to it.

Did not even know it had the old hall there.  Must visit. But presumably not open to the public?

Definitely better in the Southern half.

The north bit is very dull indeed but the south bit has the old, rather decaying, mansion.(I hate to think what local traffic would be like without the 'dreadful flyover').

Interesting.  I have never ventured in either part of the park north or south of that dreadful flyover (from below anyway).

Not much history at all after the late 20's when the estate was compulsorily purchased when the Great West Road drove through the middle of it.It was offices for a while and was recently 'social housing'. Currently it is being used as offices by the developers of the GWQ apartments. The history is very thin.
