Girl trapped on E2 bus today

I was in West Ealing at 3.30pm when I saw 2 fire engines, ambulance and police car came rushing by and go down Northfields Ave. When I reached my destination, just opposite the tesco, I saw all the fire engine guys upstairs. Then when I looked closer, I saw a girl of around 12 who was upstairs in the front seat and her head was stuck between the yellow railings. It was so scary seeing her head stuck like that and I felt like crying. The firemen crew were fabulous. They managed to break free the railing without causing the girl any injury and then she was taken to the ambulance for a check over. Well done to all the hardworking crew. Without them, the girl would have died. We are so lucky to have a first class emergency service. It is a tough job and the guys work so hard. well done.

It would not surprise me at all if they had unbolted the bar and refitted it. Rather an updated version of threading that buckle on parka hoods around the seat handrail.Much hilarity but did not require the emergency services.

Maybe but she still must have had a little head.Perhaps the handrail was unbolted, her neck put under and the handrail bolted back?  Like a modern version of the stocks?

It's possible that the child was not stupid but was being physically bullied by other brats (sorry, children), of course.

A very small head obviously enclosing a very small brain.Morale of the story, Children and adults, don't p*** about on public transport. You could lose your head!There is more chance of getting your face smashed by the windscreen handrail than getting stuck between screen and rail.It unbolts in seconds so presumably the firemen did that and not cut it.

Maybe she had a very small head?Perhaps both.Still can't see how she would have died, but one thing is certain, she won't do that again!

The yellow handrails in front of the front row of seats under or between which I would have thought it impossible to trap one's head unless being particularly 'silly'.

I remember being in hospital as a kid see a lad with a saucepan on his head. a classic from films. part of growing up however things do go bad at times.

Maybe I didn't explain properly but this poor young girl maybe of 12 or 13 years old had her neck and head stuck very badly. I have no idea how on earth she managed to do that. Maybe it was the kids messing around or someone pushed her. I have no idea. But seeing her terrified like that made me feel really bad. If she hadn't been released by the firemen, who knows what would have happened. This story might come in the Ealing Gazette next week, so you can read more detailed information.
