DAD where are you.. 1969 wimpy Ealing. Christos/Christopher

Like Nigel Bev I am wondering if there is any reason you can't go to West Ealing yourself and have a gander,as you only live in Surrey.It would seem the next logical step,or perhaps the onlyalternative. There is a railway station at West Ealing and the underground at  Northfields is only a 10min walk to where the Wimpy bar was.I have already suggested you do this before I knew you lived in Surrey which is not that far and a visit would probably help to put your mind at rest one way or t'other.Good luck anyway.

I would start with the Greek Orthodox churches, but without a surname and only a very common first name there isn't much to go on.

Unless there is some physical reason why you cannot travel, you need to put the 'legwork' in to find poeple.Ealing is no distance from most of Surrey.

Bev, may I suggest a constructive approach...visit some Greek propietors of local barbers, shops, cafes and restaurants and ask them if they have any info...like the propietors/owners of Retsina and Moussaka restaurant near junction of Uxbridge Rd and Culmington Rd, called Angelo and Maria(they've been there for many years).

I feel your pain BUT you have at least 8 threads about this subject.  The chances of anyone remembering or knowing the whereabouts of someone they may have met in a Wimpey bar 44 years ago are slim to say the least.  This medium will only reach a small number of people in any event.  Why not put an advert in the Ealing Gazette or something like that?

Bev,It seems that your quest is not an easy one.I do not know your circumstances but if you are getting nowhere perhaps the thing to do may be to wear out some shoe leather in the area and go to any likely places he may have been( local barber has been suggested)and also try the local pubs in West Ealing and see if any punters knew him,but this would be a long shot as it's so long ago.There maybe a local association for ex-pat Greeks.I do not know if you have given his surname but that would obviously be a start to search council records etc.I wish you all the best.Have you tries Wimpy head office?I don't know if they exist as the same entity,but they may have pay records unless of course the outlet was a franchise.
