Check your receipts at Sainsbury's

Shopping in Sainsbury West Ealing, I took advantage of an offer on a particularly good malt whisky - Balvenie - only to find that the tills are not scanning it through at the reduced price.Had to trail through store with shopping whilst assistant tried to find the offer and then back to customer services for a refund. Just as well I check my receipts before I leave the shop - this isn't the first time I've been caught out by Sainsbury's - so be warned (but do try the Balvenie if you like a nice soft malt!).

Never really had a problem with it it you use generic search terms.I have always found the prices accurate.

Do you find mysupermarket to be a reliable service?I tried to make use of it a few months ago but nearly everytime that I cross-checked with the retailers sites there were errors.Additionally - their attempts at matching identical products across retailers was frequently hilarious.

Re  I find this happens in other stores too         xxxxxxxxxxxxx having got caught out several times, I now always check the  receipt before I leave the store. Waitrose are very lax at the check-out with reduced items and Sainsburys  very clever in putting similar but not reduced items next to ones that are.

Thanks for alerting us about supermarket charges.I'm a Campari Soda man mainly, but I do love a couple or three drams of Balvenie, when I'm feeling low.

I always check the receiptds and quite often discover mistakes,always in favour of the supermarket( funny that eh?)I'm a cognac man really but I like a Glenlivet or a Jura.

I find that Waitrose are the least egregious when it comes to this kind of thing. But maybe that's because they tend to have fewer offers than the other supermarkets.Mine's a wee tot of Lagavulin.

Good tip.I actually watch like a hawk when my items are being scanned at ANY supermarket and ask the checkout operator to let me put everything on the belt before they start scanning to facilitate this.Money is tight enough not to give any 'extra' to the supermarkets.I'm a Talisker lover BTW.
