Pitshanger Park

Why is it that Pitshanger FC is seeking public support for a new sports pavilion on the park, yet after a game today ( Sunday  10th feb) left a large amount of litter ( including a burst soccer ball.) Clearly they have no respect for other park users.

Pitshanger FC have form on this - their players and supporters have been leaving piles of litter (mostly sports drink bottles) all around the pitches for years. The same is true at Gunnersbury Park albeit it's a different club.

Sadly, i have no proof, other than my own eyes, watching whilst spectators ( i suspect mostly parents) disgarded refusewhilst watching a game- i did not see the Ball burst, but it was left on the pitch after the had finished playing.  And most of the litter was left in a rectangular shape which almost exactly corresponded with the outline of the pitch.If i had "proof" i would indeed take it further.However i was attempting to state that we all share responsibilty for the parks cleanliness

If you have proof that the football team littered you should confront them with it, using the contact details already provided.If you have no proof your point is still valid, but you owe the football team an apology for presuming their culpability on this forum.

I think that we all have an individual responsibilty to keep our parks clean, littering by a  major park user doesn't help.

I don’t think that it is fair to blame members of the football club for the sad state of Pitshanger Park.  In fact those who were playing on Scotch Common on Sunday ought to be commended to brave the cold and wet weather conditions in order to keep up their practice, instead of staying at home.A whitish burst football ball was lying by the pitch nearly two weeks ago along with other bits of rubbish and it is not only near the football pitches but there is usually rubbish all around the inside of the fences of the tennis courts and in the car park. From various people’s posting here I believe that Pitshanger Park is not the only one to suffer a lack of TLC. Unfortunately the cut in the park rangers’ number coupled with the appalling service from Enterprise (who is also responsible for keeping our parks clean) and the poor maintenance from our Park’s service has led to a quick deterioration of our beautiful park.

Nigel, I'm not answering for Walter, but I have to say that when I last told someone in Walpole Park to clear-up their litter, I received a bunch of fives for my trouble and an earful of abuse.

That's not always possible when people are 20 yards ahead of you in the pouring rain, as was the case today.These are people who state that they want a sports pavilion built to improve the park, yet are not prepared to pick up their own litter

i do realise that posting on a forum such as this does nothing to clear up litter. The point i was trying to make is that we should have respect for the park, which is a much-loved public resource.

Don't know, have you asked them?Posting here isn't going to get the litter picked-up IMHO.
