counterfeit goods seized in southall today

I just heard that today, thousands of counterfeit goods were seized in southall and they arrested a couple of illegal immigrants. This doesn't surprise me because nearly everything being sold in the stalls in Southall along uxbridge road such as dvd's, toys, sunglasses, mobile phones are all counterfeit and all the indian restaurants and supermarkers in southall employ illegal immigrants. The council and border control need to be there 24/7 to round them all up but unfortunately that is not the case. Not enough resources. Fining the supermarkers £10,000 for each illegal immigrant is not a deterrant but they need to get tougher such as jailing the owners or closing the business.

The definition of Fake sports clothing is that it goes out of a different exit at the same factory in thailand and gets taken away on a different truck.

the usual clue aside from spelling mistakes on packaging is the price - if it's too good to be true then it normally is. There are quite a few pound type shops selling things like mulipacks of duracell batteries that are clearly fake - less than 1/4 the normal retail price and packaging that has an odd feel to it.

Are many counterfeit goods openly on sale in shops in Ealing? How does one tell if the stuff is genuine?
