Wild Sahara

I do hope our clever and usually cautious Mr Cameron doesn't commit us too deeply to the French in Mali. That part of Africa - Niger, Guinea, Bukino Faso, Mauritania et environs is wild and dangerous - I know, 'cos I've worked there. Careful Mr Cameron sir.

You may well be correct Keith - strange are the ways of international politics, there might well be some "quid pro quo" in the dealings between France and Britain. Time will tell.

I agree Gerry but I wonder whether there is a 'I scratch your back you scratch mine'dimension to this.We may need an aircraft carrier in the South Atlantic in the not too distant future,and as we disgracefully don't have one to hand,may need the borrow of one from our European neighbours.
