Is this a wise decision?

With the news today that the army is set to lose 3,500 troops plus further cuts in the future - is this a wise decision?The world seems to be a more dangerous place yet we are cutting the army personnel.  To me it seems a poor reward for those who are willing to give their lives for this country.Surely cuts in spending could be made elsewhere?If you were in charge what would you do?

Re  claw back the unpaid tax from Amazon, Google             xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx  I have often thought of banning them from trading in the UK but there may be downsides, even if practical?

How about trying to claw back the unpaid tax from Amazon, Google and so on?Also why not charge EU Lorries for using our roads?

Investment managers and sundry people in the financial sector seem to get annual bonuses at this time of the year. I don't mind that, but their annual bonuses are umpteen times more than my annual basic salary used to be just a few short years ago. Life doesn't seem to be fair.

Re  What about the Quangos? I'll bet they are still going strong!          xxxxxxxxxxxxxx    I am sure I read somewhere recently  they have played musical chairs with them, still exist  under different names and same people but in different quangos. All jobs for the boys , and girls of course.

More money saving tips!Reduce the amount of Managers in the NHS. Bring back Matron.Reduce the number of MPs - do we really need so many?What about the Quangos? I'll bet they are still going strong!How's that for starters?I am sure you could think of many more ways to save money!

The decision to make the levels of cuts to the Army is a very Short-Sided  decision. A Country in the forefront of the Modern World Needs to defend its Shores,its interests world-wide and its peoples .We don't need world Wars to upset and bring down this nation: it can and is being done in parts of the Modern world from within. We can find every aspect of British Life today with high ranking officials I would find difficult to trust.It is only a matter of Time that we will regret Not having an adequate fighting force to cover our defences

I hate conflict in any shape or form but we do seem to get involved in all sorts of battles overseas therefore making this country a target for revenge.

If I were in charge I'd withdraw from all wars/conflicts/armed aggression/territorial disputes etc. Nothing has ever been resolved by wars. When will we ever learn.

Another thing I have always wondered is why we still have nearly 20,000 troops in Germany?
