It is beyond me to understand why people have to BUY already made burgers, especially the ‘value’ ones (and most of the ready-made meals) when it takes no more than three minutes to make your own healthy and juicy burger, stews and whatever else there is there on offer on the shelves. At least one knows exactly what goes in it. Lean minced beef, one egg, a small amount of bread crumbs, parsley, a pinch of salt, a bit of garlic and grated parmesan or cheddar cheese all mixed together and you have the most succulent burger ever! As for horse meat, its steak is highly nutritional, full of iron and much, much healthier than a beef steak. In Italy, as in most country in the continent, it is the recommended diet for those who are anaemic or suffering from heart disease as it has a low fat content. Donkey meat is used mainly in the manufacturing of mortadella and, in some regions, of sausages. As far as I know no-one has ever died for eating either of these or indeed rabbits, lambs brain, snails, frogs and birds. We should be aiming to have a more diverse diet rather than the boring choice offered today, especially when it comes to cheap cuts of chicken or pig products which are full of antibiotics, and pumped up with water and fat with no nutritional value whatsoever. However products must clearly list all the ingredients that they contain and then people can make their own mind up as to whether they want to buy it or not.
