paranormal, ghosts and all that.....

Hi, I'm a newbie to the forum and would appreciate any information relevant to the title of this post. I've been commissioned to write another book, this one is 'Haunted Ealing' (to include Acton, Greenford, Perivale etc) and am interested to hear more relevant stories. If anything has anything they would like to share, please let me know!Thanks  :-)

Yes Jamie, looks like a tragic history at that house - it was once one of the better houses in Ealing - wonder what the history is - it still looks a bit spookey to me.

Gerry if the house has an old Merc in the drive and is by Lammas park there is an old lady who lives there. Hard to believe I know but I have seen her comming and going. It realy intrigues me as it would appear that the family would have been comfortable with a nice big house and what was an expensive car. Look's like something tragic could of happened and the owners perhaps gave up.

Interesting Jean, thanks. I lived in Singapore for 10 years - loved every moment of it. Have friends in Melacca, Penang and KL. Now happily settled in sunny Ealing.

Re  found a few references to hauntings.          xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I doubt  Jean if any hauntings relate to happy "ghosts", those who hang around and don't move on are unhappy ones, even if their trauma is the result of others but sometimes result of their own behaviour.

Hi Gerry and all those who gave sensible responses to my query. Thank you. The borough archivist and others have also been helpful and it seems that there are just not enough incidences of the supernatural in Ealing borough to merit a book.  The publisher has now commissioned me to write a different book, so Ealing's ghosts can rest in peace .....

Hi Gilly, Just a thought, why don't you go on to 'Ask Jeeves' and then type paranormal activity and ghosts in the area you are interested in.I did just that and found a few references to hauntings.Good luck!

Hanwell Community Centre!!There are some great storeis about that place that have done the rounds over the years - possibly folklore, but some of them get the harid on the back of your neck standing up.Try this as a starting point - when I get the opportunity, I will have a hunt around for more:http://www.indyrs.co.uk/?p=225When I was a kid, I went to Judo as the HCC and always felt uneasy about the place. Not really spookey at all then, if you were spooked then you made yourself spooked.When looking at these things, it's always better to look for a rational explanation before suggesting the paranormal.

I understand that someone does live in this house on the top floor.  I think this story has been featured in the past on the forum, and I am fairly sure that quite a few people in the neighbourhood know the house and its rather sad story (I assume you are talking about a house in Elers Road)

There is an old three storey house near us and this house has been unoccupied for a couple of decades. Its run down and there is an old car parked in the front drive of this house, which hasn't moved for years - its rusty and almost hidden by the overgrown unkempt front garden. Nobody has lived in this house for years. Last week, I swear I saw a light on in an upstairs window. Its dark now...spookey! Its like a tale from the unexpected!
