lack of christmas decorations by Ealing shops

Yesterday I went to Ealing broadway shopping centre with a friend who had come over from France and I was very embarrassed when i realised that not a single shop, like waterstones, superdrug, currys etc had any christmas decorations.You would never have guessed it was christmas. Shops expect us to part with our money yet they can't even spend a few pennies on deocations. Next time, we should boycott all shops who do not display decorations.

I took mine down before. it is more the rule that they should not stay up after after the 6th. but then the shops start their decorations well before christmas. i put mine up at the end of the first week in december.

Twelve days after Christmas (hence the twelve days of Christmas) on the 6th January if you are Roman Catholic. If you are Anglican it is on the first Sunday after the 1st January so anytime between the 2nd-8th January.

For many businesses Christmas (capital C please) ends as soon as they close the doors on the last trading day BEFORE Christmas in preparation for the sales or simply a cleardown. Compare this with many continental countries where decorations remain in place until Epiphany.
