Homeless in Ealing this Christmas

Will there be many homeless in Ealing this Christmas? Which local organisations give help to these homeless folk? I'm thinking of offering something - thanks.

Christmas is difficult for a lot of people  We often live along way from relations and friends  The elderly in particular who find it difficult to travel can become more and more isolated

And Crisis will, of course, still gladly accept donations to support their works.As I posted in another thread a place at an exhorbitant Christmas Day meal at a restaurant I will never grace in W5 will buy three hot meals, a change of clothes and give access to healthcare professionals and advice services for FOUR people.

BenI don't think you're right that there are no volunteering opportunities left at Crisis this year - I didn't go through the registration process until late November and there are a lot of shift vacancies shown online:http://www.crisis.org.uk/pages/christmas.htmlAs you say, all of the formal inductions have taken place but shift leaders can give impromptu inductions as and when required, if they have the time available.

There are no volunteering opportunities left at Crisis this year. Volunteering registerations ended in October and all volunteers briefings have now taken place. If you want to help out next year start looking on the Crisis website from mid - October. The Ealing Winter Night Shelter project that started in 2011 is running again this year. We adopted the Polish tradition of taking someone less fortunate or lonely in at Christmas. We have done this now for at least 12 years and made some nice friends.These days it is harder as there are so many who could not be trusted in any way but we generally know who they are now and just make a small difference for a few days.
