E.C.U.'s Child Runaways

Had a women knock on the door this afternoon (W5) claiming to be collecing on behalf of the above 'charity'. She possed no ID but gave me a leaflet written in poor English. Also seems to be associated with 'English Claiments Union?Friends'. No charity reg. no. either on leaflet or web-site.Needless to say did not part with a penny piece. But upon putting the name in the topic box above in Google it gave directions to a squat in Madley Road.So I suggest people be aware of what is in my view a bogus organistion if not an out-and-ot scam.

Martin, please do pass on any information you have to the police.Genuine charities are having a tough enough time without having to compete with such scammers.

Re  'English Claiments Union?Friends'        xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx  that name is enough to put anyone off. Presumably now they can be legally  evicted?.

Thanks Martin for alerting us to this possible scam. I wish these squatters no harm, but this is worrying don't you think?
