Even more unbelievable

...the 65 bus shelter at Chandos avenue has been reinstated at last.It's also the very same one removed.Now if only they could do something about the hideously uncomfortable seats on most of the buses used on this route and the equally appalling road surface from Ealng to Kew.Now that would be something.Promised in 2002. 2005, 2007..2009 and still waiting

Used to be the Ealing Club, down the steps opposite the station.My Dad saw them a few times there.

Wow, the young unknown Rolling Stones used to play in Ealing! Where?Come to think of it, quite a few nascent rockers and celebs were cradled in our sunny Borough. Charlie Chaplin,Dusty Springfield,Cleo Lane,Matt Munro,Freddie Mercury,Adam Faith,Fred Perry,Ho Chi Minh...to name but a few.Any others?

"I can't get no satisfaction" out of TfL/LBE, eh?Coincidentally I found myself chatting to a bloke in Frome yesterday eve who turned out to be a former route 65 bus driver from the days (not so many years distant) when it was still dual crew operated and ran as far as Chessington (zoo in them days, not 'world of adventures').

Goodness me, so it has - just popped down there to see for myself, having read your comment. So that leaves just three stops in South Ealing with no form of shelter or other basic passenger amenities, plus a least one with the shelter away from the stop; plus several with shelters inadequate for the normal demand; plus all but 2 or 3 without any real-time bus arrival display.The official mind responsible for public transport (and particularly bus service) provision in London defies all understanding - and defies most requests from us punters for things to be put right and for a decent level of service in any way commensurate with that given to motorists.
