choirs

Does anyone know off any local choirs that my husband and daughter can join either in the Ealing area or close by?

A big 'Thank You' to everyone who made the debut of the 'Hanwell Miracle Choir' such a success.The performance at St. Thomas's church was quite well attended but the two important things were that the 35 members of the 'scratch' choir and the audience all enjoyed themeselves and almost £300 was raised for The Childrens' Society by the retiring collection (the mulled wine was also a success - hic!).Thanks to The Editor of ealingtoday for the publicity, let's see what we do next - watch this space.

Depends on the age of your daughter and what kind of music they would like to sing.  Most choirs are predominantly aimed at adults, some require sight reading and others don't.There are quite a few local choirs ranging from Ealing Choral who sing classic choral pieces to Ealing Rock Choir (daughter would need to be in her teens)and Love2Sing in Hanwell.  Both these choirs sing modern pop/rock songs, learning by ear.You can look up choirs on Council website or Ealing Arts.Nice to hear of a dad who would like to sing with his daughter and vice versa.

Try googling Ealing Arts & Leisure and look down the list of members for choirs.

Don't forget the Ealing Choral Society,which has just celebrated its 50th year.  They are good,so it is quite hard to get in.

I'm not an expert on local choirs but we had Questors Choir at last Saturday's craft market in West Ealing and we have Singology this Saturday from 2-3pm:www.questorschoir.org.ukwww.singology.comThere's a bit more information on both choirs on our West Ealing Neighbours blog -  http://www.westealingneighbours.org.uk/WEN-blog/ I'm sure others will know of more local choirs.

If they fancy a 'one-off' to see if they like it The Hanwell Miracle Choir is staging a one-off performance of 'A Night of Miracles' at St. Thomas's Church on Boston Road.This is a 'scratch' choir and there are only two rehearsals on 8/12 and 15/2 at 14:30 before a performance in aid of The Children's Society on 15/12 at 19;30For more details see the front page of Ealing Today.
