Best and worst in Ealing

What's the best thing that's happened in Ealing this year?What's the worst thing?

The best must be the half marathon which was well attended and was a success both in terms of participants and spectators and, most important of all,  raised thousands of pounds for charities.The worst was the way it was organised – or disorganised – in terms of the chaos caused by the entire road enclosures that certain areas experienced, especially north of the Uxbridge Road. Transport users unable to travel at all for most of the day; traffic congestions on zones outside the marathon route; missed earning from taxi drivers and driving instructors; people unable to go shopping, visiting friends or relatives.  Most of this due to lack of information and misinformation given to the general public as well poor communication between police, most of whom had been drafted in the area and didn’t have a clue on what was happening and when roads will be reopened, even after the event had passed the route.Hope that next years’ one will be organised by learning the lessons from what happened this year and that it will be spread over a larger area.

Oh, I think the best thing is the new paving and road layout in the centre of Ealing. The worst thing are the speed humps and platforms in the roads.

Glad the Magic Flute was a success David.  What's Elysium?Its a strange thing. I thought these two questions about Ealing would generate lots of replies. Apart from one reply its ziltch,nothing,barren,nil,silence,apathy,lack of interest,boring. Perhaps everybody's too busy with Christmas coming. Ah well!

Best thing - the Magic Flute at Walpole Park. A really good evening out with friends and family!Worst thing - nothing worth mentioning.  Ealing is Elysium!
