It doesn't start until January 2013 so no point in signing up yet although you can book an energy assessment. It is, in effect only a loan repaid through your energy bills.My (somewhat cynical) assessment is that prices will be inflated for 'Green Deal' customers and that you may well be better shopping around for a good deal.Energy companies have been offering free (or significantly reduced prices) on insulation for some time now without the need for assessment, form-filling, bureaucracy and loans.I doubt it will be a 'roaring' success more like another ill-considered move from the coalition who seem happy to launch a daily 'initiative' than deal with the core issues.Never has 'The Thick of It' been more apposite.
