Ealing Cinema site should become, 'W13 Shopping Centre'

Like Shepherd's Bush Green, Ealing needs to restore a more social atmosphere. It has been too long in the waiting, without one of our favorite past times...going to the cinema'. Although I don't mind travelling to other locations, it would be great to have a nearby multi-purpose complex. In my opinion I feel Ealing developers need to create a social hub to shop, eat, entertain and relax. We need to be able to socialise in our 'OWN' local community.Why not call the complex 'W13 Centre', it works well for Shepherds Bush which has a W12 Centre, So why not Ealing.It's about time we had somewhere local and social.

A huge development in Brentford on the edge of the A4/M4A housing development of apartments with paper thin walls unaffordable parking and unlettable retail units. A large proportion of which were Buy to Lets subsequently let to local authorities to house priority families.All tinsel and no substance.

Perhaps we could get LIDL or ALDI to build a superstore there with a cinema of say three studios on the top floor, and a nice swimming pool for the population of Ealing in the basement (like the council promised when the town hall Lonfield swimming baths were closed and demolished by a Labour administration some years ago)? No more snall retail please!

It has to be a cinema and it while an IIMAX is nice it's not for everyone.A good big screen auditorium is needed. The smaller screens are just not worthwhile in an age where many have 48" Plasmas.Seeing Skyfall on a big screen just makes one realise what can elevate a good film to being a great experience out.So comfy chairs and best quality sound and projection should be a basic in this age but if it's small screens and seats too close too the screen it will be a turn off and fail. and it needs cheap easy parking to be viable.All possible but letting Barratts near it after the debacle of GWQ? Not a good idea.

After a debacle trying to see Skyfall in both Westfield and Shepherds Bush and then leaving Park Royal because of the endless chatting by the audience. ( Why do the staff not enforce basic etiquette at this complex which clearly needs it)We went to Uxbridge and saw the film there. I have to say it was a pleasant surprise.Excellent screen, sound and seating.Not as expensive as Park royal or Shepherds Bush.Well run cinema with helpful and attentive staff and well behaved audience.I had not been to Uxbridge for some time and did not know that it had a other new development in which the Cinema and an IMAX cinema are incorporated.It is better than the towns rather poor shopping centre.It has shops and a Debenhams and a car park. Best of all the car park is just £1 after 6.30 and this makes the cinema and the restaurants and bars easy and poplar.It's in a relatively compact site and if this could be matched in Ealing it would be a soaraway success.

1. It's in W5!!!2. We don't have a cinema in W5/7/133. Shepherd's Bush is a 'dump' - ruined by sucking the life out of the Hgh Street with woefully overpriced housing.Apart from these, it's a good idea :-)
