Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group
Eric Leach had a little moan about this on Friday on the front page. Any change to the local health service is naturally of interest to people. It might have helped people if Eric had done his homework rather than just generating more fog. The council has a statutory role in respect of scrutinising NHS services and is required to be consulted on any NHS change. This role is undertaken in by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Health and Adult Social Services Scrutiny Panel. In practice this means that all changes of any kind are described in minute detail in written reports and discussed at these meetings. It is all very transparent. If for instance Eric wants to hear from Dr Mohini Parmar, the ECCG Chairman, about what the commissioning intentions of the ECCG are I suggest he attends tonight's meeting at 7pm in Committee Room 3 at Ealing Town Hall. More here. If he reads his way through the papers I suspect that most of his questions will be answered. If not the chairman will usually let members of the public ask questions.
