Hi SamanthaMy sister had an awful experience a few years ago, with a local garage treating her like a dumbo because she clearly didn't know much about cars. They charged her a fortune for new shock absorbers, which were almost certainly not needed.Based on that experience, my suggestions would be:- Call the AA / RAC etc for immediate advice, if you are a member- If appropriate, insist that the garage keeps all faulty parts so they can be independently verified- Take a cool-headed friend or relative with you if talking to anyone at the garage face-to-face. I have found it works wonders to have someone with me, acting as a witness and simply being supportive. If they know anything about the technical issue or whatever it is, so much the better- Keep brief - contemporary - notes of everything that has been mishandled, showing how reasonable you have been and how unreasonable they have been. If it comes to a small claim case in court or similar, the weight of notes made at the time will count heavily in your favour. This could be as simple as a note or 2 each day in your diary or an email sent to a friend or even to the garage itself, as long as you don't delete these- Lastly, I'm sure there'll be a LOT of support on this forum, so do post more details if you need toGood luck!
