Re  quicker to wipe out the Taliban from that Country            xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx  sadly not so Os. One of my friends there tells me he and his family travel in fear and have to keep on the move for fear of the Taliban who are  well entrenched in that country and Afghanistan, especially in the backwoods where the people are not well educated and adhere to the old style Islam, Sharia and all that. It all boils down to education, and that's probably why the Taliban are against it. All the Muslims I know in this country, from whatever walk in life, are at least more liberal minded even if they still adhere in theory to their religion but which they interpret to suit their own lifestyles!. The ONLY aspect yet I have known all to stick by is the non eating of pork, all other don'ts being conveniently forgotten! As I say to them, become westernised, which most are in the process of becoming. I am in Southampton at present and went into a Tesco small branch type late this afternoon and the till person was very friendly, enquired re my day so far etc. I asked him where he came from, an Arab he said to which I said I am Jewish, showing him my Star of David ring, assuming he would be aghast, but no, how nice  he said, very good people, we have many in Iraq ( where he apparently comes from ), large Jewish area in Baghdad but I told him more in the past than now. I have yet to come across any Muslim who is anti Jewish or indeed anti Israel, and I know them from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Tunisia, Algeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. I am not Jewish but almost became converted years ago and still wear the ring I had then but have Jewish members within my close family, not as though they follow that religion per se.

Re  Who will dare to speak up next?              xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx      the M C B have just released this :-    " Press ReleaseMalala Yousafzai’s rapid recovery – prayers in mosques16th October 2012* Muslim Council leader appreciative of medical help given to Malala Yousafzai in BritainFarooq Murad, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, welcomed the arrival of Malala Yousafzai in Britain for treatment of her horrific injuries. She arrived on board an air ambulance provided by the United Arab Emirates and will receive expert medical care at the Queen Elizabeth acute hospital in Birmingham.Farooq Murad said: “The horrific attack on Malala Yousafzai is to be condemned, and has rightly been done so by Pakistan’s responsible political and religious leaders. You don’t see such a unified response every day in a nation in turmoil from violence and external aggression on its borders and internally”. Our Prime Minister has correctly observed that "Pakistan is the biggest victim of terror in the world". Sinister groups are creating havoc in the country leading to such sinister events.Muslim mosque congregations in Britain have been praying for the young girl’s recovery since the tragedy occurred on 9th October. Now that she is amongst us, our thoughts are even more so with her, her family and the other young girls injured in this criminal attack.Malala’s case also tells us that violence, and political violence in particular, has been an everyday fact for Pakistanis. Each day we hear of an outrage: whether it be for sectarian, religious or political. This is compounded by the onset of US military drones that have cost the lives of so many innocent lives. All of this must stop. If we are to seek an effective strategy to ensure that Malala’s attackers do not prevail, we must all find ways to assist Pakistanis to take violence out of Pakistani politics and civil society.
