With a circulation of c.35000 (much of it free) it is little more than a freesheet like the late, lamented (always a week late) Informer.The quality of reporting and, particularly, subbing, is very low.Rather nothing than something of such poor quality.

The Ealing Gazette is not the paper it was and I must confess to not buying it as much as I used to but it is still the newspaper for our community. It doesn't deserve the stick it is getting - there are far worse local newspapers out there and an increasing proportion of the country doesn't have one at all.

I wouldn't get too exited about them being shortlisted. Most competitions of this sort are "vanity competitions" (much like Eviling in Bloom) which are "easy to enter" and are directly or indirectly funded by the people entering them.

Just checked to see if their online version has any of the news that breaks on this site - nope!The latest 'letters' page is September 21 and they are still listing 'upcoming' events in Community News from July.Also the vehicle MOT pop-up that appears is for a garage in Portsmouth - there's handy!How do they have the gall to call themselves a local NEWSpaper?

How badly 'subbed' is the online edition when it makes the fraudulent e-mail address, used in the parking ticket scam accurately reported on EalingToday, a 'live' clickable link?Never mind, I am sure that there is an outside toilet somewhere in the borough that is running out of paper.

Who knows. I never read the Eviling Gazeete. But it makes a great free cage lining delivered to my door for my rabbits.Perhaps the competition was about utility rather than content, or perhaps there was three or fewer competition entrants?

Re  Cleric's Wife Arrested for Fly Tipping.          xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx would that not give the Council the basis on which to forcibly downsize her accomodation, ie unsociable behaviour, assuming  the article was re Mrs Hookey?

Don't know if it was the Gazette but I loved the billboard headline I saw yesterday: Terror Cleric's Wife Arrested for Fly Tipping.
