Ealing Half Marathon

Many congratulations to Ealing Today Editor, Annemarie, for completing the marathon.I would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate and thank the six runners – Marie De Greef, Wim De Greef, Bill Hardman, Aleyne Johnson, Sam Karlstine, Carla Kennerson, Ben Kennerson and Paolo St John – who ran to raise funds for the Log Cabin.They all completed the 13.1 miles within the time limit. Aleyne and Wim put in star performances, completing it in under two hours! I was at the finish line to cheer them all in, and what a great day it was!

I cracked the can open immediately I crossed the finish line (after collapsing first). A great day and a well organised event. Just beat you M Duley: 1.41.28. Gutted to miss out on 1.40 but was close and those hills were enormous!

My legs are finally feeling relatively normal again today. 1hr 42m 18s, and about £1200 raised for Alzheimer's Research UK.Definitely had a great day, not sure I'm up for doing it again though. Bit surprised but pleased to get a can of London Pride in the goody bag handed to race finishers! A work colleague who also ran almost guzzled it, thinking it was an energy drink!

And to the organisers for a job well done.I must admit to not being overly impressed by my normally quiet road, which can only take traffic in one direction, becoming a gridlocked nightmare, but it was only for a few hours and went away as quickly as it came.Looked like a hugely successful day, so well done one and all!!
