TNT mail deliveries

The TNT trial mail deliveries in the Ealing area need to improve. Some deliveries do not arrive until mid-afternoon -- up to six hours after we have received our normal Post Office delivery. But worse, the mail is often left sticking out of the mail slot. Not acceptable.Anyone else had similar experiences?

Perhaps the complaints haven't been wasted. Have just seen two separate TNT delivery persons -- one in Northfields Avenue; the other in South Ealing Road. Both were riding along the road, rather than on the footpaths.Now all we need is for them to push the mail through the letter slots, instead of leaving them half-in-half-out.

TNT non-delivery, I live in a block of flats, each flat with it's own front door with letter box. Yesterday in the communal entrance area I found a letter to me from a financial company, fortunatly it was a quarterly news letter not a statement with full a/c details. Also fortunate that the cleaners had not cleared the entrance hall of litter. Bernadette, you can't send post TNT only businesses.

You can't.They accept a minimum of 250 items per day. Thoroughly cheesed off with them again as their guy belted down the pavement on Boston Road on his bike this morning.Obviously the e-mail promise of ending this dangerous practice meant sweet nothing.

Are TNT delivering anything that is time critical?  I don't know as the stuff I've got through them is junk mail.But even if it was something like a gas bill, we get a week or so to pay.How can I send something through TNT?

Agreed that Royal Mail still needs to get its act together, but my experience is that there have been improvements. A bit of competition might be good for the Post Office, but TNT's service, so far, is failing to provide an acceptable alternative.

Have you tried calling the Royal Mail's telephone line? It's an endless menu to get the right sorting office, which is then engaged.

TNT deliveries seem to be all over the place, once had two deliveries on the same day.  Both were junk mail and really a waste of paper, so straight in the bin.Looking at the bigger picture, the RM has been going downhill for many years, we all know this.  The sorting office in West Ealing seems to be run by Snow Whites friends who move just slightly quicker than a snail.Was in there last week on my way to work, two bell buttons to press, neither worked.Not saying its a bad service or poor VFM, but they need the competition to up the quality for their customes.

I can only agree with the Post Office flyer.I hope that the TNT trial is an unmitigated disaster.The Post Office are far from perfect but to allow a competitor to simply 'cherry pick' the bits it wants to do is unfair competition.TNT don't offer a universal service, do not offer collections from individuals (i.e. post boxes, and have no interest in so doing.Years of under investment and allowing archaic working practices in the PO have come home to roost. Of course those charged with improving things received nonsensical salaries and bonuses while the poor bloody posties got dumped on from height once again.

Your experience doesn't surprise. The Post Office service is far from perfect, but at least you can get to know your "postie", you have a telephone number to contact and a sorting office to visit. I had to return an important TNT letter to the sender the other week. I put it in a post box, but did it ever get back to the sender? And if so, who did this -- the Post Office or TNT?

Re. TNT postal deliveries.I was chatting to one of the TNT guys a few days ago.  Seemingly, TNT are using casual/temporary workers. The delivery service in west London is, ostensibly, a commercial trial/experiment.Royal Mail have now got the heebie jeebies.  A month ago, I received an RM flyer, 'there are new bad boys on the block who ain't as ethical or efficient as us'.  Ho, hum.

TNT don't offer YOU a guaranteed delivery time and they seemingly don't deliver 'time critical' items. They seem to use a different guy each time so they don't build up familiarity with their 'patch'.I have now e-mailed them three times about the delivery people 'belting' down the pavement on their bikes. Each time I get an apology but nothing changes.The local TNT 'deliverers' (sic) seem to spend an inordinate amount of time delivering just a few items andI wonder how they can make any money.

Yes. It does matter, as I have a business. More importantly, it is unacceptable that mail is left sticking out of letter boxes.

we get Royal Mail several hours after TNT in the mid-afternoon. Since we never get anything urgent by post does this really matter?
