TVU Sport PItch, Argyle Road

Hi all,For the last 2-3 years, in the summer, you may have noticed that the grass on TVU sports pitch on Argyle Road (next to Scotch Common) has been allowed to grow into an unholy state and then around this time of year, they'll cut it. This morning, I noticed that all the grass has been wrapped into large bales. Anyone know why TVU chose to do this, instead of regularly maintaining the fields which would surely make for better surfaces ?

A weed is actually any plant in the wrong place, but I'm splitting grass blades now!A sports ground (assuming its grass) shouldn't have any weeds.  A budding young athlete might might fall over and sting themselves on a prickly bush.

How very middle class!Must mow the lawn!That unholy state is exactly how it should look and is a wonderful benefit to local flora and fauna.Needless to say, it is not a sports ground and,observably  has not been for a very long time

They could be making the most of the sky high price of silage at the moment. It's also a good time to pick up calves (beef type not dairy)Info picked up from the pigeon farming I speak when I visit the inlaws.

I don't know if WLU (the old TVU with a rebranding to cover the past) even own it anymore Bud.Ironic isn't it, everything else was cut at TVU except the grass!
