THEY HAVE FEET OF CLAY WHEN THEY HAVE TO DO THE RIGHT THING

In parliament they speak with Fire in their Belly ,but when the need to act confronts the high and mighty, they stand with feet of Clay. Strikers in the Border Protection Force and the Immigration Service was inevitable when the government promised Olympic pay for the Tube Drivers and the Bus Drivers.The people who govern us almost invited workers discontent.They showed weakness with the Bankers-Tube drivers -Bus Drivers -G4s- and what now?Squeeze the deprived -unemployed and pensioners even more.? Thousands of our Soldiers are now without work and joining them are Police Cut backs. The NHS are facing cuts too.Austerity for the ordinary folk but Millions for the Un-Touchables. We have no alternative but to put on a brave face and weather the Storm. Good Luck dear Country-men,we are in it together.

Well I don't know all the terms of the new agreeement leading to the strike by the border staff being called off, but the Beeb is saying there will be 1100 new jobs created.More money flowing directly into the community rather than playing accountancy games can only be a good thing.

Re  My husband said bring in the army        xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx  now I don't want to stir up any strife in the Fernandez household, but hubbie is right. In fact this country needs a dose of military dictatorship, for a limited period , to sort out the ills that have  begotten us in recent years. With me as THE dictator, of course!.

This is another example of govn.saying one thing and then doing the exact opposite.It's getting more like a storyline from 'Yes Minister' every day.If this govn. wants to win the public's trust and get re-elected as a single governing party one of the things it must do is to increase the number of border staff.not sack more as they wilkl after the Olympics.A reduction in red tape wouldn't go amiss either.It is quite simple really.When you buy a home the first thing you do if you have any sense is change the front door locks and make sure all the entrances and exits are secure.You don't leave the doors and windows unlocked.

The strike will make not one iota of difference to the Olympics.It is a nonsense that so few members actually voting for industrial action can be considered as a mandate for a strike.Equally, the massive reduction in numbers of B&IA staff flies firm in the face of a government trying to convince us that they are keeping our borders safe and tackling illegal immigration.

The Tories wreaked their revenge on Arthur Scargill and the miners who gave us the three day week.With the Unions having threatened to wreck the Olympic games for ordinary people on a grand scale, is this the trigger for the Tories to legislate to demand a much higher turnout in votes for a strike?
