Ealing Comendy Festival Musings...
Attended the Ealing Comedy Festival last night (Wednesday 18/7) and was quite disappointed. The onus seemed to be on what they could sell from the concessions in terms of food and drink, and not on what the punter paid for the tickets and the value they were getting.Example:Show should start at 745 p.m. Cue numerous calls form MC for patrons to take their seats. Host comes on and does a 10 minute piece and then first act. Then they have an interval for 15 mins which turns into 20-25 mins by the time everyone gets back to their seats. Second act (Milton Jones - quite disappointing) comes on for about 25-30 mins (wonder what he got paid for that!!!) and then, you guessed it, another interval. At that point, we called it a day.For future reference organisers, you do not need so many intervals. The show loses its flow and I feel let down by the experience. As a final note, I thought the park did not look nearly as bad as some have written about on this Forum, but that's me...
