Fury over Noori seems to be taking on the appearance of a councillors Side-Show. Until i know what she has done that merits such indignation, i will remain confused.

. . . just confirms my feelings that (with woefully few exceptions) local politics of any political colour is a pile of unmentionable stuff.  National politics is hardly much better.  Having said that, when the frick will the country's recycling and waste handling come under central government control?  It can't be any worse than having it organised by pea-brained local Napolean characters.

Perhaps the police investigation had something to do with a child protection case? which, if this is the case, is by far the most serious offence for which she will have to sit  for an extra five minutes on the naughty step.

OK, I don't have all the background but "advising a member of the public not to cooperate with a police investigation" sounds more than re-training issue.Also I would be interested why she needs Child Protection (re)training.

And she is told to go and seat in the 'naughty step' for five minutes,  brush up on the Council's Code of Conduct' and then "all is forgiven".  In other words she has been allowed to get away with what are normally very serious offences. The famous phrase "we are all equal but some are more equal than others" comes to mind, in this case.

George,Do we think training is re-education gulag/waterboarding style? Joking aside I am interested in this as I am in Colm v Mark case. For both I'd like to know more. All three stay silent and that leads me to think the worse. However it is reassuring to know I Arthur am witing to you the real George.
