Os,If anything, they are very good at spinning, distorting facts and taking credit for what they call ‘our achievements’ when they really had nothing to do with them. Dickens’ Yard, the regeneration of Southall of Acton Town centres and minor shopping parades, as well as that of Rectory Park and the Green Man estates, the new council houses which have recently been build, schemes to alleviate traffic congestion on our main road arteries, apprendership schemes and so on. All these were schemes for which funding (over M50) was allocated or secured by the previous administration. Yet, just because they are now being implemented or build they have become this administration’s achievements. In the meantime: services that catered for the most vulnerable and library hours have been cut; budget for road and pavements maintenance has shrivelled, park rangers and envirocrime officers teams have been decimated; refuse collection is a shamble, parks and streets are getting dirtier and if you don’t have a computer and you try to reach someone in the Town Hall, lodge a complaint or report something directly to Ealing Council’s Customer Service you may as well forget it. Despite all this our dear Cabinet members keep congratulating themselves for a job well done trying to convince us all on how wonderful and competent they are. What is sad, however, is that some people actually believe them and keep voting for them. I don’t know who to pity the most!
