Close to where I live there is a thriving local community based around a coffee shop called Munson's which is a block south of The Uni of West London, so if you like a good cup of coffee have a wander down, (other drinks are available). I'd say it'll be hard to meet locals until you are here, but, if you are at our local Uni you'll soon start recognising places to go to and try. Who knows, there may well be more mature students on your course, and some younger students aren't always the 'typical student type', and you will probably form some great friendships with the most unlikely people. Londoners are a rare breed in London, believe me I find it intriguing when I actually discover that they are true local inhabitants, rather than from all corners of the world. It's nice and leafy-green in Ealing, loads to do,you just might miss the expanse of sky that you have up in t'north. I'm from Leicestershire, and been here since the early 80's and still need to get out into the countryside on a regular basis to get my sky allowance topped up!I hope your grades are good to start your new adventure.......embrace it , and enjoy! You can always get in touch when you are here.cheers,Jane
